Police have disclosed the arrest of notorious target killer Ajmal Pahari here on Wednesday from Jauharabad area. The police have also booked him in four more cases of murder and he is likely to be produced before the court on Thursday (today). Mystery shrouded the sudden disappearance of Ajmal Siddiqui alias Ajmal Pahari, the target killer who was released on January 18, 2013 from the Karachi Central Prison after being acquitted in 11 cases of murder, despite his on-camera confessions of involvement in at least 111 murders, and the Joint Investigation Team’s thrilling report on his crimes
        
Islamabad: ANF recovers 1,324kg of hashish
The Anti-narcotics Force (ANF) successfully recovered a huge quantity of hashish after conducting an operation against drug smugglers in Balochistan on Wednesday. The ANF Balochistan conducted a raid at a hutment in the foothills of a mountain in the area of Murbat, Tehsil Ghazaband, district Pishin and, after encounter with drug smugglers, the ANF seized 1,324kg of hashish of fine quality. The drug smugglers escaped under the cover of fire and darkness. The drugs had been brought from Afghanistan and were likely to be smuggled abroad
        
Islamabad: CIA recovers 810 bottles of liquor, 4 held
The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) apprehended four men involved in liquor trade and recovered 810 bottles of branded liquor as well as firearms from their possession. According to the Islamabad Police spokesman, a team was constituted by CIA SP Mustansar Feroz under the command of CIA Incharge DSP Zubair Ahmed Sheikh and comprising Inspector Saleemullah, Sub-Inspector Haider Ali Shah and others. The team conducted raids in Malpur and Markaz I-10 and arrested Waqas Sayeed, Raja Arsalan, Raja Waqas after recovery of 810 bottles of liquor from their possession
        
Dera Ismail Khan: Militant held, explosives recovered
The police arrested a militant in the limits of City Police Station and recovered explosives from his possession, sources said on Wednesday. The sources said the police raided a house in Kumharnwala in the limits of City Police Station and arrested Asif Naveed and recovered a suicide jacket, 15 kilograms of explosives and a pistol from the house.
        
Jamshoro: USJ protesting 30 employees arrested, 150 booked
University of Sindh Jamshoro (USJ) thirty protesting employees have been arrested and 150 booked under Anti-Terrorism Act, following a violent clash of the protesters with the police, Geo News report Wednesday. USJ employees, who were peacefully protesting in support of their demands since last 44 days, lost their patience when yesterday police arrived that led to a clash. Police claimed that six persons including SP Headquarter Wasi Haider were injured in the violent clash
        
Lahore: 3 cops arrested for acting beyond jurisdiction
Three police constables were suspended from service after they allegedly misbehaved with a senior police officer and his family during checking at an unauthorised picket near Qadhafi Stadium in Gulberg late Tuesday. An inquiry has been initiated into the matter while the three constables were taken into custody. Model Town SP (Operations) Awais Malik told Dawn that SSP Suleman Sultan Rana along with his friends and their families were going somewhere by two vehicles, including his official car, when three Mujahid Squad constables stopped them near Qadhafi Stadium around 10:30pm and asked for checking
        
Gujranwala: 4 cops held for extortion
The Civil Lines police have arrested four cops on the charge of trespassing on a house and extorting Rs 40,000 from the house owner. Ashraf Chand of Sui Gas Road, in an application to the Gujranwala CPO, alleged that Constables M Nawaz, Adnan, Abbas Ali and Zafar Iqbal had forcibly entered his house and taken out Rs 10,000 from his pocket. He said that the accused threatened to implicate him and his family members in a case if they did not give them more Rs 40,000. He said that the accused took him to an ATM and forced him to withdraw Rs 30,000. He said later the accused went away, asking him to arrange for Rs 10,000. The CPO ordered to register a case against the accused
        
3 suspects held during operation in Quetta
Soon after a terror bid was foiled in Quetta, three suspected persons were held from Wehdat Colony while arms were also seized from their possession Wednesday, Geo News reported. According to Frontier Constabulary (FC) spokesman, a search operation was conducted in Gulshan Bareech area of Quetta during which each and every house was searched and three suspects were apprehended. Two rifles, one pistol, 400 rounds along with nine magazines were also recovered. FC forces are still continuing the operation.
        
Karachi: Most wanted suspect arrested in Baldia Town
Rangers launched an operation in Baldia Town #4, arresting a most wanted suspect here on Wednesday night, Geo news reported. According to the details, the most wanted suspect was abducted by some unidentified armed men. Rangers took action and rescued the suspect, however, kidnapers managed to escape. Meanwhile, police registered the case against the rescued suspect Ghulam Hussain alias Maam Baloch for his alleged involvement terrorism, bomb explosions and receiving extortion money
        
Lakki Marwat: Man with hashish arrested
Police on Wednesday arrested a man while smuggling hashish to Punjab. After receiving information, said an official, a party of Lakki police station headed by SHO Abdul Saboor Khan got alighted a suspect from a passenger bus at Darra Tang checkpost situated on the border with Mianwali district of Punjab. The bus was going to Lahore from Bannu. Police recovered 1,010 grams hashish from the luggage of the arrested drug trafficker Attiqullah, resident of Tore Lawangkhel. A case was registered against him under section 9 of the Control Narcotics Substance Act (CNSA), said the official
        
Gujranwala: 5 officials among 7 booked
The Anti-Corruption Establishment has registered cases against seven people, including five officials of the Nandipur Town, for stealing files and misappropriating funds. During an inquiry, ACE Assistant Director Ijaz Munir Gondal found TO P&C Pervaiz Pahsa and Inspectors Imran Elahi and Azhar Cheema guilty of stealing total 219 files of the approved building plans.
        
Lalamusa: Woman, kin held for kidnapping student
The City police have arrested a woman and her relatives on the charge of kidnapping a prep class student for a ransom of Rs 10 million on Wednesday. Naureen Bibi, wife of Norway-returned Abdul Hameed Mirza and a resident of Mohallah Qali Gran, told the police that her maid Kiran Bibi with her accomplices had kidnapped her son Sikandar when he was returning from a tuition centre near Gala Mandi. She said that the kidnappers had demanded Rs 10 million for the release of her son.
        
Toba Tek Singh: 2 booked for selling adulterated urea
Agriculture Deputy District Officer Ch Khalid Mahmood registered a case against two fertilizer dealers here on Wednesday. Fertilizer dealers accused Shahid Mahmood of Adda Philoor and Khushi Muhammad of Pul Nagra were selling adulterated fertilizer. Samples of their commodities were sent to a laboratory which found their fertilizer adulterated.
        
Okara: Case registered after a year
he Depalpur City police have registered a case against five people for poisoning a girl to death and throwing the body in a pond a year ago. Allah Ditta of Dola Pukhta village told the police that Naseer Ahmad and Muqaddas Bibi, at the behest of Ghias Ahmad, Shan Ali and Bashiran Bibi, had poisoned his six-year-old daughter Sonia Rani and thrown the body in a pond
        
2 sisters abducted in Pakpattan
